Welding And Construction Requirements For X80 Offshore Pipelines

Offshore Technology Conference, 1993
ABSTRACT The trend for increased demand of natural gas has prompted the development of huge gas fields, which will require large diameter pipelines at higher operating pressures. The ability to decrease wall thicknesses through the use of higher yield strength pipe can dramatically effect fabrication costs and make ...

Passivation process of X80 pipeline steel in bicarbonate solutions

International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2011
The passivation process of X80 pipeline steel in bicarbonate solutions was investigated using potentiodynamic, dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS), and Mott-Schottky measurements. The results show that the shape of polarization curves changes with HCO 3 − concentration. The critical

Constitutive relationship of hot deformation of X80 pipeline steel

2010 International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2010
In order to realize numerical simulation of hot rolling and establish the hot deformation process parameters for X80 pipeline steel, the flow stress behavior of X80 pipeline steel during hot deformation was investigated in the temperature range of 900–1100°C and strain rate of 0.01–1s−1 on Gleeble-3500 thermo-simulation machine.

Structure and Properties of X80 and X100 Pipeline Girth Welds

2004 International Pipeline Conference, Volumes 1, 2, and 3, 2004
This study aims to provide an understanding of the factors that control weld metal strength and toughness of mechanized field girth welds produced in X80 and X100 line pipe steels using a range of pipeline gas metal arc welding procedures. In the investigation of X80 welds, a series of experimental single and dual torch gas metal arc welds were ...

Effect of Pseudomonas sp. on simulated tidal corrosion of X80 pipeline steel

Bioelectrochemistry, 2023
Microbiologically influenced corrosion of pipeline steel in seawater has long been concerned by scholars all over the world, but there were few reports on the microorganism effect on marine tidal corrosion of steels. In this work, the effect of Pseudomonas sp. on static tidal corrosion of X80 pipeline steel were systematically studied using weight-loss,

Microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steels

Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Mater. Sci. Ed., 2012
The relation between microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steels was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, etc. It is shown that the structure consists of polygonal ferrite (PF), quasi-polygonal ferrite (QPF), acicular ferrite (AF), and granular bainitic ferrite (GF).

Study on Mechanical Properties Anisotropy of X80 Pipeline Steel

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
The microstructure of X80 pipeline steel in different directions were observed by SEM technique and its effective grain size and misorientation were statistically analyzed by EBSD system. Based on these results, the mechanical properties at 0°, 45° and 90° to the rolling direction of X80 pipeline steel were studied.

Precipitation behaviors of X80 acicular ferrite pipeline steel

International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2011
The precipitation behaviors of X80 acicular ferrite pipeline steel were investigated by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that dendritic precipitates in the as-cast steel slabs precipitate mainly in grain boundaries, and these dendritic precipitates dissolve and re-precipitate to two

Effect of Inclusion on Pitting Corrosion of X80 Pipeline Steel

Advanced Materials Research, 2015
The influence of inclusion on pitting corrosion of X80 pipeline steel was investigated by using electrochemical test and atomic force microscope. The results indicated that corrosion potential of X80 pipeline steel sample with higher grade inclusion was lower, and decreased significantly with chloride ion concentration increasing.
