Texture Dependent Mechanical Anisotropy of X80 Pipeline Steel

Advanced Engineering Materials, 2010
AbstractPipeline steel grades API X80 are used for oil and gas transport. The most important mechanical properties of these steel grades are strength and fracture toughness. A remarkable directional anisotropy of toughness and strength were often observed in the plates.

SH-CCT of High-Strain Pipeline Steel X80

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Simulated heat affected zone continuous cooling transformation curve was measured by means of Gleeble 3500 thermal simulator. According to the results of microstructure observation and hardness measurement, influence of cooling rates on the microstructure and hardness in coarse grain zone of high-strain pipeline steel X80 was studied.

Electrochemical behaviour of X80 pipeline steel with alumina coating

Surface Engineering, 2015
X80 pipeline steel was firstly aluminised at a relative low temperature then treated by a microarc oxidation process. Electrochemical behaviour of X80 pipeline steel before and after the combined treatment was evaluated by electrochemical tests in different solution. Results show that ceramics coating composed of α-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 can be obtained on

Stress Detection of X80 Pipeline Based on Vibration Characteristics Analysis

Volume 5: Operations, Applications, & Components; Seismic Engineering; ASME Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnosis and Prognosis (NDPD) Division
Abstract The operational environment of long-distance oil and gas pipelines is characterized by its complexity, which can lead to stress concentration and localized defects over time, consequently increasing the operational risks. One emerging technology for evaluating the structural integrity of these pipelines is non-destructive ...
