Texture Dependent Mechanical Anisotropy of X80 Pipeline Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, 2010
AbstractPipeline steel grades API X80 are used for oil and gas transport. The most important mechanical properties of these steel grades are strength and fracture toughness. A remarkable directional anisotropy of toughness and strength were often observed in the plates.

Electrochemical behaviour of X80 pipeline steel with alumina coating

Surface Engineering, 2015
X80 pipeline steel was firstly aluminised at a relative low temperature then treated by a microarc oxidation process. Electrochemical behaviour of X80 pipeline steel before and after the combined treatment was evaluated by electrochemical tests in different solution. Results show that ceramics coating composed of α-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 can be obtained on

EBSD Study on Transverse Tensile X80 Grade Pipeline Steel

open access: yes2010 8th International Pipeline Conference, Volume 2, 2010
Transverse tension testing was carried out on an X80 grade linepipe to investigate the deformation behavior and the evolution of microstructure by means of SEM-EBSD (Electron Backscattered Diffraction) technique. Test results show that uniform elongation could achieve up to 7% in transverse tension for an X80 linepipe.

Fracture toughness of the materials in welded joint of X80 pipeline steel

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2015
Abstract The microstructures, mechanical properties and fracture toughness of the materials in different locations of the welded joint of the X80 pipeline steel were studied at room temperature. Elastic–plastic fracture toughness testing of crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) and J-integral of the welding materials and base material were conducted.

Influence of hydrogen pressure on fatigue properties of X80 pipeline steel

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2017
Abstract The low-cycle fatigue and fatigue crack growth (FCG) properties of X80 pipeline steel in hydrogen atmosphere were determined to investigate the variation of hydrogen pressure and its influence on fatigue life. The test environment was switched to a hydrogen atmosphere after 1000, 3000, or 5000 cycles of pre-fatigue testing in a nitrogen ...
