Splitting susceptibility in modern X80 pipeline steels
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2020Abstract The microstructure and crystallographic texture of modern industrially produced API X80 grade pipeline steels were studied to identify the factors associated with the phenomenon known as splitting, which can occur on the fracture surfaces of Charpy, drop-weight tear test and full-scale fracture propagation tests.

Effects of strain on the corrosion behaviour of X80 steel
Corrosion Science, 2011Abstract The effects of strain on the corrosion behaviour of X80 steel in 0.62 M NaCl aqueous solution were investigated in the present paper. An increase in strain causes the corrosion resistance of the specimen to present a down and up trend, with the lowest point at about 1.0 × 10−3.

Passivation process of X80 pipeline steel in bicarbonate solutions
International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2011The passivation process of X80 pipeline steel in bicarbonate solutions was investigated using potentiodynamic, dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS), and Mott-Schottky measurements. The results show that the shape of polarization curves changes with HCO 3 − concentration. The critical

Microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steels
Journal of Wuhan University of Technology-Mater. Sci. Ed., 2012The relation between microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steels was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, etc. It is shown that the structure consists of polygonal ferrite (PF), quasi-polygonal ferrite (QPF), acicular ferrite (AF), and granular bainitic ferrite (GF).

Study on Mechanical Properties Anisotropy of X80 Pipeline Steel
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The microstructure of X80 pipeline steel in different directions were observed by SEM technique and its effective grain size and misorientation were statistically analyzed by EBSD system. Based on these results, the mechanical properties at 0°, 45° and 90° to the rolling direction of X80 pipeline steel were studied.

Precipitation behaviors of X80 acicular ferrite pipeline steel
International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy, and Materials, 2011The precipitation behaviors of X80 acicular ferrite pipeline steel were investigated by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results show that dendritic precipitates in the as-cast steel slabs precipitate mainly in grain boundaries, and these dendritic precipitates dissolve and re-precipitate to two
