XANES study of structural disorder in amorphous silicon [PDF]
An investigation of the structure of several amorphous silicon (a-Si) films is presented. Samples were prepared by using the ion beam sputtering technique at different substrate deposition temperatures. X-ray absorption spectroscopy and multiple scattering formalism have been used to detect structural variations of the a-Si films.

XANES OF MANGANESE COORDINATION COMPLEXES [PDF]
XANES of Mn compounds of known structure and electronic properties [Mn (II), Mn (III), Mn (IV)] is reported. Preedge, Edge and Post-Edge zone are detailed. Dependence on oxidation state, geometry and nuclearity are discussed. Preedge structure is observed and compared with d-orbital splitting obtained from visible NIR spectroscopy.

The polarization of unpaired V 3d electrons weakens the H─O bond to improve water dissociation by the dual Vδ+:O─H and Pλ−:H─O coupling hydrogen bonds formation and relaxation. Tuning Redox Dynamics in Cu‐Based Electrocatalysts: Effect of Secondary Metals
Advanced analysis of operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy data reveals that secondary metals affect the redox processes in Cu‐based catalysts for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. This influences the amount of oxides formed under pulsed reaction conditions and the distribution of reaction products.

Simulating the XANES of metalloenzymes – a case study
The analysis of XANES patterns is very indicative for screening samples. Powerful X-ray absorption spectroscopy data-analysis programs can simulate these patterns. Here, a case study on two structural motifs is presented: a non-heme Fe site (2-His-1-carboxylate motif) and the metallo β-lactamase dinuclear Zn site.
