Toxicon, 1989Aqueous extracts of 75 specimens of the xanthid crab, Eriphia sebana, collected from coral reefs in the Capricorn Group, Great Barrier Reef, Australia, were assayed for toxicity to mice. Thirty-five extracts contained detectable toxicity. Toxicity was quantified by i.p.

Polydectus cupulifer (Latreille, 1812) (Decapoda, Xanthidae): first record from Taiwan
Crustaceana, 2007The unusual xanthid reef crab, Polydectus cupulifer (Latreille, 1812), is characterized by possessing a very thick covering of setae all over its external surfaces and its habit of carrying a large sea anemone on each of its chelae. It is here recorded for the first time from Taiwan as well as from the Chinese seas in general.
