Three cases of a rare renal lesion, xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis, are presented. Amyloidosis, hitherto unreported in association with this lesion, was found in the liver in one case. The need for an accurate preoperative diagnosis and long-term follow up are discussed.

Herein we report a case of a 70‐year‐old woman who presented with frequent, postmicturition pain and lower abdominal discomfort. Cystoscopy revealed a mass at the dome of the bladder near the left wall.
