Biofilm formation and dispersal in Xanthomonas campestris
Microbes and Infection, 2004Xanthomonas campestris pathovar campestris is the causal agent of black rot disease of cruciferous plants. A cell-cell signalling system encoded by genes within the rpf cluster is required for the full virulence of this plant pathogen. This system has recently been implicated in regulation of the formation and dispersal of Xanthomonas biofilms.

Characterization of Glutathione Transferase from Xanthomonas campestris
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1993A single form of glutathione transferase (Xc-GST-4.5) having an isoelectric point at pH 4.5 was resolved from Xanthomonas campestris cytosol by affinity chromatography and isoelectric focusing. HPLC,N-terminal amino acid sequence, and SDS-PAGE analyses indicate that Xc-GST-4.5 is composed of two identical subunits, each with a molecular mass of 22 kDa.

Phenotypic Characteristics of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris from Nepal
European Journal of Plant Pathology, 1999Twenty strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) were isolated from two major crucifer-growing valleys, Chitwan and Kathmandu in Nepal and characterized by biochemical and pathogenicity tests. Strains were homogeneous in bacteriological characteristics.

Pathogenicity Genes of Xanthomonas Campestris
1987Following mutagenesis, strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris showing altered pathogenicity were isolated by screening on turnip seedlings. The mutants grew normally on laboratory media. A “library” of wild-type X. c. campestris DNA was prepared using a broad host range cloning vector (pLAFRl) and recombinant plasmids were identified which ...

Structure of the extracellular polysaccharide from xanthomonas campestris
Carbohydrate Research, 1975Abstract Xanthan gum, the extracellular polysaccharide from Xanthomonas campestris , has been reinvestigated by methylation analysis, and by uronic acid degradation followed by oxidation and elimination of the oxidized residue. The polysaccharide is composed of pentasaccharide repeating-units with the following structure:

Биосинтеза на ксантан от Xanthomonas campestris

Evidence for clustered pathogenicity genes in Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1985Plasmid pIJ3000 contains DNA from the plant pathogen Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris which restores symptom production to a non-pathogenic mutant. pIJ3000 was mutagenised with the kanamycin resistance transposon Tn5 in Escherichia coli, and the sites of insertion were mapped physically. Derivatives of pIJ3000 containing Tn5 inserted in X.

Culture fluorescence dynamics in Xanthomonas campestris
Process Biochemistry, 2001Abstract Culture (NAD(P)H) fluorescence dynamics have been used to provide information on culture behaviour when Xanthomonas campestris was grown in a bioreactor. Culture fluorescence decreased by 1150 units in response to an increase in extracellular pH from 3.1 to 7.6. A mathematical model incorporating the effect of pH on the bulk NADH depletion

Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris regulates virulence mechanisms by sensing blue light
Photochemical & Photobiological SciencesLight is an environmental stimulus to which all living organisms are exposed. Numerous studies have shown that bacteria can modulate virulence factors through photoreceptor proteins. Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) is the causative agent of the systemic vascular disease black rot, which affects cruciferous crops worldwide.
