New Culture Medium to Xanthan Production by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris [PDF]
Xanthan is a important biopolymer for commercial purpose and it is produced in two stages by Xanthomonas campestris. In the first one, the bacterium is cultivated in the complex medium enriched in nitrogen and the biomass produced is used as inoculum for the next stage in which the gum is produced in another medium.

Characterization of Filamentous Bacteriophage Lf from Xanthomonas Campestris pv. Campestris
A filamentous phage, phi Lf, which specifically infects Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris was isolated. The phage particle measured 1,000 (+/- 200) x 8 nm. It formed turbid plaques of about 1 mm in diameter. During multiplication, the progeny virions extruded into the medium without retarding host cell growth.

Biophysical characterization of the outer membrane polysaccharide export protein and the polysaccharide co-polymerase protein from Xanthomonas campestris [PDF]
This study investigated the structural and biophysical characteristics of GumB and GumC, two Xanthomonas campestris membrane proteins that are involved in xanthan biosynthesis. Xanthan is an exopolysaccharide that is thought to be a virulence factor that

Rapid Cell Death in Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines.
Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines strain AM2 (XcgAM2), the etiological agent of bacterial pustule disease of soybean, exhibited post-exponential rapid cell death (RCD) in LB medium. X. campestris pv. malvacearum NCIM 2310 and X. campestris NCIM 2961 also displayed RCD, though less pronouncedly than XcgAM2. RCD was not observed in Pseudomonas syringae
