A filamentous bacteriophage from Xanthomonas oryzae
Virology, 1969Abstract Xf, a newly isolated filamentous bacteriophage of Xanthomonas oryzae is described. Morphologically Xf is very similar to filamentous coliphages, but it differs from them in host specificity, base composition in their DNA, and sensitivity to treatment with chloroform and sodium lauryl sulfate.

In rice, Hd3a, GF14 and OsFD1 proteins, forming florigen activation complex, are key components in flowering time regulation. GF14 genes in rice response to biotic and abiotic stress has also been well addressed. The role of GF14e in rice defense has been well studied. However, whether Hd3a and OsFD1 play roles in defense is unclear.

Oxidative Stress Response in Xanthomonas Oryzae
1993Xanthomonas oryzae (Xoo) oxidative stress responses were investigated by monitoring the protective enzymes, catalases (KATs), superoxide dismutases (SODs) and an important DNA repairing protein (RECA). In Xoo, paraquat, a superoxide generator was a potent inducer of KATs whereas SOD and RECA remained largely uninduced.

The Genomics of Xanthomonas oryzae
2014Xanthomonas oryzae pathovars oryzae and oryzicola cause bacterial leaf blight and bacterial leaf streak of rice, respectively, two diseases that pose a significant threat to global rice yields. The first four complete genome sequences of X. oryzae strains yielded a wealth of information about virulence factor content, mobile genetic elements, and ...

gltB/D Mutants of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae are Virulence Deficient
Current Microbiology, 2013Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) causes bacterial blight, a serious disease of rice. Upon clip inoculation of rice leaves, Xoo causes typical V-shaped lesions whose leading edge moves through the mid-veinal region. We have isolated a virulence deficient mutant of Xoo, referred to as BXO808 that causes limited lesions which primarily extend through ...

Proteome analysis of the plant-pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Proteins and Proteomics, 2013The plant-pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is the causal agent of bacterial blight, which is one of the most serious diseases of rice. Xoo has been studied for over one century, and much has been learned about it, but proteomic investigation has been neglected.

CitB is required for full virulence of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae
World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2015To identify novel virulence associated genes in Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), a Xoo isolate (XooIR42), obtained from north of Iran, was selected to generate a mini-Tn5 transposon mutation library. One mutant (XooM176) that indicated reduced virulence on rice plants, while grew similar to wild type was selected.
