Identification of Novel Type III Secretion Effectors in Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae
Many gram-negative bacteria secrete so-called effector proteins via a type III secretion (T3S) system. Through genome screening for genes encoding potential T3S effectors, 60 candidates were selected from rice pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv.

Overwintering of Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae
This article 'Overwintering of Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae' appeared in the International Rice Research Newsletter series, created by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The primary objective of this publication was to expedite communication among scientists concerned with the development of improved technology for rice and for rice

ABSTRACT Phytopathogenic fungi secrete a great number of effector proteins into various organelles of host plants and suppress plant immunity through different mechanisms. In this study, we identify SCRE7 as a unique nuclear effector that is essential for U. virens infection.

ABSTRACT Stalk rot, primarily caused by Fusarium graminearum (Fg) and Pythium inflatum (Pi), is a major maize disease responsible for significant yield losses. The molecular mechanisms governing defence against these pathogens remain poorly understood. To uncover key miRNAs and their regulatory genes, small RNA, degradome, and transcriptome sequencing ...

Genome sequence and rapid evolution of the rice pathogen
Background Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae causes bacterial blight of rice (Oryza sativa L.), a major disease that constrains production of this staple crop in many parts of the world. We report here on the complete genome sequence of strain PXO99A and its

Western Blot Detection of Xanthomonas Oryzae pv. Oryzae in Rice
Bacterial blight, caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), is a severe rice disease, and rice-Xoo interactions form a model system in plant disease resistance research. To establish immuno-techniques for Xoo detection, a Xoo-specific polyclonal antibody was generated using the total Xoo protein as the immunogen.

An 8.1-kb DNA fragment from Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae that contains six open reading frames (ORF) was cloned. The ORF encodes proteins similar to flagellar proteins FlhB, FlhA, FlhF, and FliA, plus two proteins of unknown function, ORF234 and ORF319,
