Beyond d‐Band Catalysis: A Critical Review and Descriptor Framework for Rare‐Earth Engineering in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rare‐earth catalysts regulate lithium–sulfur battery chemistry through f‐orbital–mediated interactions, enabling simultaneous polysulfide adsorption and catalytic conversion on conductive carbon hosts. This synergistic control suppresses the shuttle effect, accelerates redox kinetics, and guides stable Li2S nucleation, providing a mechanistic framework

Two-dimensional ordering of self-assembled InxGal-xAs quantum dots grown on GaAs(311)B surfaces

open access: yes, 1999
Two-dimensional (2D) ordering of self-assembled InxGa1-xAs quantum dots (QDs) fabricated on GaAs(311)B surface by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) are reported. The QDs are aligned into rows deferring from the direction of the misorientation of the substrate,

Near‐Unity Selectivity Inversion Between CO2 Electroreduction and H2 Evolution via Atomic Coordination Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Atomic coordination editing functions as an on/off switch that toggles single‐atom catalysts between CO2 electroreduction and hydrogen evolution. ABSTRACT Precise atomic coordination editing of single‐atom catalysts (SACs) provides an effective strategy to tune their electronic structures and catalytic selectivity. Yet, achieving near‐unity selectivity

A MULTI-WAFERS LPE TECHNIQUE FOR ALXGA1-XAS GAAS HETEROJUNCTION SOLAR-CELLS

open access: yes, 1994
A multi-wafers LPE technology has been developed in our laboratory by means of using a simple squeezing graphite boat, having a capability of growing 20 wafers with a big size of 2.3 X 2.3 cm(2) in one epitaxial run.

Origin of current instabilities in GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs heterostructures: avalanche ionization in the AlxGa1-xAs layer

open access: yes, 1993
Pulsed current-voltage measurements on modulation-doped GaAs/Al xGa1-xAs heterostructures are presented at electric fields up to 2 kV/cm. At fields between 0.5 and 2.0 kV/cm we observe up to three well-defined avalanche type current jumps as a function ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Binding energy of positively and negatively charged excitons in GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs quantum wells

open access: yes, 2002
Using a simple two-parameter wavefunction, we calculate variationally the binding energy of positively and negatively charged excitons in GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs quantum wells for well widths from 10 to 300Angstrom.

Interfacial Proton‐Relay Microenvironment Enables Self‐Driven Singlet Oxygen Generation under Neutral Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An interfacial proton‐relay microenvironment at MoS2‐CuCl heterostructures enables selective O2 activation to 1O2 under neutral conditions. Electron‐deficient sulfur sites mediate proton transfer to Cu‐bound O2, accelerating *OOH hydrogenation while suppressing O─O bond cleavage, achieving stable, efficient pollutant removal.

EER studies of the single quantum well GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs electrode/nonaqueous solution interface

open access: yes, 1996
The interfacial behavior of the single quantum well (SQW) GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs electrode in HQ/BQ and Fc/Fc(+) electrolytes was characterized respectively by studying the quantum confined Stark effect and Franz-Keldysh oscillation with electrolyte ...
