XAT‐Catalysis for Intramolecular Biaryl Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie - International Edition
AbstractRadical ipso‐substitution offers an alternative to organometallic approaches for biaryl synthesis, but usually requires stoichiometric reagents such as tributyltin hydride. Here, we demonstrate that visible light photoredox catalysis can be used for ipso‐biaryl synthesis, via a halogen‐atom transfer (XAT) regime.

Giese-type alkylation of dehydroalanine derivatives via silane-mediated alkyl bromide activation [PDF]

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
The rising popularity of bioconjugate therapeutics has led to growing interest in late-stage functionalization (LSF) of peptide scaffolds. α,β-Unsaturated amino acids like dehydroalanine (Dha) derivatives have emerged as particularly useful structures ...

Towards carotenoid biofortification in wheat: identification of XAT-7A1, a multicopy tandem gene responsible for carotenoid esterification in durum wheat

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2023
Yellow pigment content, mainly due to the accumulation of carotenoids, is a quality trait in durum wheat grain as it confers the bright yellow color to pasta preferred by consumers.

REMARKS ON THE NAME OF THE WESEKH-COLLAR IN THE OLD KINGDOM [PDF]

open access: yesShedet, 2022
This paper examines the different early attestations of the name of the broad collar, wesekh. The earlier studies on this collar, based on the Berlin dictionary, revealed that the name of this broad collar is first attested in the Middle Kingdom. However,

Transition-metal free C–N bond formation from alkyl iodides and diazonium salts via halogen-atom transfer

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
The pursuit of efficient C–N bond formation is a prime focus of synthetic organic chemistry. Here, the authors documented a base promoted amination between alkyl iodides and diazonium salts via halogen-atom transfer (XAT) process.
