Geochemistry and U–Pb Zircon Geochronology of Granite at the Pilok Sn–W Deposit, Thailand: Implications for Late Triassic Tin Metallogenesis

open access: yesResource Geology, Volume 76, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Zircon U–Pb dating constrains the Pilok Sn–W granite emplacement at 212–208 Ma, during the Late Triassic post‐collisional extension after the Sibumasu‐Indochina collision. This timing coincides with widespread tin‐bearing granite magmatism throughout Southeast Asia, marking a major regional metallogenic event. ABSTRACT The Pilok Sn–W deposit in western

1 billion-year-old cell contents preserved in monazite and xenotime

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Exceptional microfossil preservation, whereby sub-cellular details of an organism are conserved, remains extremely rare in the Precambrian rock record.

Titanium in Muscovite, Biotite, and Hornblende: Modeling, Thermometry, and Rutile Activities of Metapelites and Amphibolites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Reactions involving the VITiIVAl-VIAlIVSi exchange in muscovite, biotite, and hornblende were calibrated thermodynamically using a set of experimental and natural data in rutile-plus quartz/coesite-bearing assemblages.

Monazite, rhabdophane, xenotime & churchite: Vibrational spectroscopy of gadolinium phosphate polymorphs [PDF]

open access: yesSpectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2018
Rare-earth phosphates with the general formula REEPO4·nH2O belong to four distinct structural types: monazite, rhabdophane, churchite, and xenotime. We report herein the first direct comparison between vibrational spectra of these compounds for the same metal cation i.e. gadolinium.

Two Cycles of Devonian–Triassic Extension and Compression in the Altai Accretionary Wedge: Insights From Tsogt Core Complex

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract The Altai Accretionary Wedge in the Mongolian Altai records a polyphase geodynamic evolution involving two extensional–compressional tectonic cycles, constrained by petrostructural analysis and zircon, monazite U–Pb, and Ar–Ar geochronology. The studied section includes a southwestern high‐grade and a northeastern low‐grade domain, previously ...

Library of UV-Visible Absorption Spectra of Rare Earth Orthophosphates, LnPO4 (Ln = La-Lu, except Pm)

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
In recent times, rare earth orthophosphates ( L n PO 4 ) have shown great potential as efficient optical materials. They possess either m o n a z i t e or x e n o t i m e –type structures.

Stability and isotopic dating of monazite and allanite in partially molten rocks: examples from the Central Alps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We investigated the stability of monazite and allanite as a function of bulk rock composition within several types of Tertiary Alpine anatexites, characterized by different compositions and melting reactions, but similar P-T conditions of melting.

Xenotime-type Yb[AsO4]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2005
Yb[AsO4], ytterbium(III) oxoarsenate(V), adopts the xenotime structure type. Single crystals were obtained in an attempt to synthesize a compound with nominal composition Yb3OCl[AsO3]2 by fusing a mixture of Yb2O3, YbCl3 and As2O3 in a 4:1:3 molar ratio at 1123 K, owing to air-intrusion during the reaction.
