Luminescence of BaFBr and BaF2 Crystals Irradiated by Swift Krypton Ions

open access: yesCrystals
In this study, radiation damage in BaFBr and BaF2 crystals irradiated with 147 MeV 84Kr ions up to fluences of (1010–1014) ions/cm2 was investigated using X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL) and pulsed cathodoluminescence (PCL).

Nanoscale x-ray absorption spectroscopy using XEOL-SNOM detection mode

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2007
The first results obtained with the prototype system at the synchrotron beamline ID03 at ESRF are presented and illustrate the possibility to detect an element-specific contrast and to perform nanoscale x-ray absorption spectroscopy experiments at the Zn K and W L 3 absorption edges in mixed zinc oxide-zinc tungstate thin films.

µLaue diffraction and XEOL to study structure and light emission in materials

open access: yes, 2023
The emergence of disruptive functionalities in nitrides is strongly related to the growth and technology process controls, but also to the development of advanced characterization techniques with high spatial resolutions. Focused X-ray beams provide innovative solutions to analyze quantitatively and correlatively the strain and light emission by ...

XAFS and XEOL of tetramesityldigermene – An electronic structure study of a heavy group 14 ethylene analogue

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2013
Digermene, the germanium analogue of ethylene, has a multiple bonding motif that differs greatly from that of alkenes and exhibits no pure σ or π type bonds. The electronic structure of digermenes is difficult to study experimentally due to their reactivity, and is computationally challenging because of their shallow potential energy surfaces.
