The role of hydrogeology to achieve the water security [PDF]
[Abstract] The concept of water security focuses on the objective of water management in society. However, in urban environments -where requirements related to water supply, floods, important rains, rising water tables, pollution problems, among others-,

Digermene, the germanium analogue of ethylene, has a multiple bonding motif that differs greatly from that of alkenes and exhibits no pure σ or π type bonds. The electronic structure of digermenes is difficult to study experimentally due to their reactivity, and is computationally challenging because of their shallow potential energy surfaces.

µLaue diffraction and XEOL to study structure and light emission in materials
The emergence of disruptive functionalities in nitrides is strongly related to the growth and technology process controls, but also to the development of advanced characterization techniques with high spatial resolutions. Focused X-ray beams provide innovative solutions to analyze quantitatively and correlatively the strain and light emission by ...

Xeol studies of impurity core-valence luminescence in mixed rubidium caesium chloride crystals [PDF]
The impurity core valence luminescence (CVL) of Rb0.82Cs0.18Cl mixed crystals was monitored at the Cl K- and Rb L3-absorption edges using X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL) technique. It is found that XEOL spectrum at the chlorine K-edge is identical with the Cl K-absorption spectrum of pure RbCl.
