The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Trapping a Metastable Node in an Amorphous Metal–Organic Framework
Frustrated assembly in an amorphous Fe‐BDC framework is shown to trap a distorted, metastable Fe3O node as the dominant local motif. X‐ray PDF analysis and DFT calculations reveal that rapid network percolation outpaces node relaxation, locking in a high‐energy puckered geometry.

Double-Layer Superhydrophobic Anti-Icing Coating Based on Carbon Nanoparticles
The previous article introduced the idea of a superhydrophobic coating from carbon nanoparticles that can combine the lotus effect, the slip effect and electric current heating. A further development of this idea was suggested.

Recent insights into xerogel and aerogel mineral composites for CO 2 mineral sequestration [PDF]
Supercritically dried composites have already been analysed and proposed as carbon dioxide sequesters. However, the economical and energetic costs of the supercritical drying process had to be re-evaluated, and were eventually found not to enhance the ...

Hierarchically Soft Porous MOF‐Polymer Monolith for Fast and Large‐Scale Moisture Buffering
A soft, hierarchical porous monolith that combines metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with a thermoresponsive polymer matrix enables rapid, large‐scale moisture buffering. The synergistic interface facilitates high‐capacity water capture and low‐energy release for sustainable indoor dehumidification.
