Selective Response of Mesoporous Silicon to Adsorbants with Nitro Groups
We demonstrate that the electronic structure of mesoporous silicon is affected by adsorption of nitro-based explosive molecules in a compound-selective manner. This selective response is demonstrated by probing the adsorption of two nitro-based molecular

Towards Certain Fixes with Editing Rules and Master Data [PDF]
A variety of integrity constraints have been studied for data cleaning. While these constraints can detect the presence of errors, they fall short of guiding us to correct the errors. Indeed, data repairing based on these constraints may not

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Electronic Structure of CeFeAsO1-xFx (x=0, 0.11/x=0.12) compounds
We report an extensive study on the intrinsic bulk electronic structure of the high-temperature superconductor CeFeAsO0.89F0.11 and its parent compound CeFeAsO by soft and hard x-ray photoemission, x-ray absorption and soft-x-ray emission spectroscopies.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Extended analysis of Xe VII and Xe VIII [PDF]
A pulsed discharge light source to study the six and seven times ionized xenon spectra in the 419–4642 Å region was used. A set of 40 transitions of Xe VII and 25 transitions of Xe VIII were classified for the first time. We revised the values for the previously known energy levels and extended the analysis for Xe VII to 10 new energy levels belonging

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Improving Data Driven Part-of-Speech Tagging by Morphologic Knowledge Induction [PDF]
We present a Markov part-of-speech tagger for which the P (w|t) emission probabilities of word w given tag t are replaced by a linear interpolation of tag emission probabilities given a list of representations of w.

Hydrodynamic predictions for 5.44 TeV Xe+Xe collisions [PDF]
We argue that relativistic hydrodynamics is able to make robust predictions for soft particle production in Xe+Xe collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The change of system size from Pb+Pb to Xe+Xe provides a unique opportunity to test the scaling laws inherent to fluid dynamics.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
