The aim of this study was to assess the influence of a phytase and a xylanase on the productive performance of growing guinea pigs (type A) fed mixed diets in the highlands of southern Peru. Thirty male guinea pigs with an average weight of 361 ± 70 g were evaluated for 5 weeks.

An experiment was conducted with the objective to assess the effect of two levels of palm kernel cake (3 and 6 percent) and the inclusion of β-glucanase and xylanase (0.05 percent) on the productive response in laying hens. A total of 216 laying hens were used from the 46week-old pink egg Hy-Line Brown line for a period of 12 weeks.

The chemical composition and in vitro digestibility of corn stover (CS), asparagus browse (AB) and peanut hulls (PH) were evaluated through the application of cellulases (EC 3.2.1.4) or xylanases (EC 3.2.1.8) at levels of 0 (control), 2000, 4000 and 8000 IU / kg DM (kilogram of dry matter), using rumen fluid during 48 h of incubation.
