An efficient Industrial Internet of Things video data processing system for protocol identification and quality enhancement

open access: yesIET Cyber-Physical Systems: Theory &Applications, Volume 8, Issue 2, Page 63-75, June 2023., 2023
Our proposed system consists of two flows, protocol identification (PI) and video quality enhancement (VQE). For the given video stream from edge devices or data links, the system first employs the PI flow to recognize the underlying protocol. Once the recognition is finished, the desired video content is decoded and processed with the VQE flow to ...

An inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase safeguards plant nucleic acids from aberrant purine nucleotides

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 237, Issue 5, Page 1759-1775, March 2023., 2023
Summary In plants, inosine is enzymatically introduced in some tRNAs, but not in other RNAs or DNA. Nonetheless, our data show that RNA and DNA from Arabidopsis thaliana contain (deoxy)inosine, probably derived from nonenzymatic adenosine deamination in nucleic acids and usage of (deoxy)inosine triphosphate (dITP and ITP) during nucleic acid synthesis.

A compositional model for effort‐aware Just‐In‐Time defect prediction on android apps

open access: yesIET Software, Volume 16, Issue 3, Page 259-278, June 2022., 2022
Abstract Android apps have played important roles in daily life and work. To meet the new requirements from users, the apps encounter frequent updates, which involves a large quantity of code commits. Previous studies proposed to apply Just‐in‐Time (JIT) defect prediction for apps to timely identify whether the new code commits can introduce defects ...

Detection and Blockchain‐Based Collaborative Mitigation of Internet of Things Botnets

open access: yesWireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks have drastically effected the functioning of Internet‐based services in recent years. Following the release of the Mirai botnet source code on GitHub, the scope of these exploitations has grown. The attackers have been able to construct and launch variations of the Mirai botnet thanks to the open‐sourcing of

User-hosted SOA infrastructure over XMPP [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2014
The proliferation of user-owned connected devices has brought value to mobile application developers, which can make use of locally-available sensors and capabilities and send their information to the web, centralizing the data flows. A more distributed approach would have device capabilities offered directly on the network as services hosted by the ...
