Insights from multi-omic modeling of neurodegeneration in xeroderma pigmentosum using an induced pluripotent stem cell system

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is caused by defective nucleotide excision repair of DNA damage. This results in hypersensitivity to ultraviolet light and increased skin cancer risk, as sunlight-induced photoproducts remain unrepaired.

Delivery of Pleckstrin‐Homology Domains Suppresses PI3K/Akt Signaling and Breast Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current therapies curb tumor growth but not metastasis. Obscurin, a giant metastasis suppressor lost in breast cancer, restrains PI3K/Akt signaling but is impractical to restore. We deploy a mini‐obscurin, comprising the obscurin‐PH‐domain, which sequesters PI3K‐p85, potently suppressing invasion and metastasis.

EXTREME PROGRAMMING AND RATIONAL UNIFIED PROCESS – CONTRASTS OR SYNONYMS? [PDF]

open access: yes
The agile movement has received much attention in software engineering recently. Established methodologies try to surf on the wave and present their methodologies a being agile, among those Rational Unified Process (RUP).

Targeted H2S Delivery System Attenuates Blood‐Spinal Cord Barrier Disruption after Spinal Cord Injury by Reshaping the Ferritinophagy Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The αvβ3‐mediated SPRC@MPDA‐RGD targets broken endothelial cells and controllably releases SPRC. CSE is then activated to produce endogenous H2S, which inhibits ferritinophagy. In brief, H2S inhibits autophagy by activating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, thereby suppressing the ferroptosis process mediated by NCOA4, and ultimately promoting the ...

Quality Assurance in Extreme Programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Our previous research about possible quality improvements in Extreme Programming (XP) led us to a conclusion that XP supports many good engineering practices but there is still place for refinements. Our proposal was to add dedicated Quality Assurance (

Decoding the Cardiac Immune Microenvironment and Fibroblast Crosstalk in Radiotherapy Combined with Immunotherapy‐Induced Cardiac Fibrosis Based on Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights that radioimmunotherapy drives crosstalk between fibroblasts and immune cells (especially macrophages) in the cardiac microenvironment, with IL‐6 as the key mediator, and tocilizumab alleviates cardiac fibrosis by targeting this interplay.

NIBAN2/FLII/RREB1 Axis Drives Glioma Stem Cell Malignancy via TLR3 Pathway Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NIBAN2, highly expressed in glioma stem‐like cells (GSCs), assembles with FLII and transcription factor RREB1 to form a nuclear complex. This complex transcriptionally activates stemness‐associated genes (e.g., CD44, NANOG) and metabolic enzymes (e.g., LDHA), thereby sustaining both transcriptional and metabolic stemness programs.

The Tits alternative for generalized triangle groups of type (3, 4, 2) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A generalized triangle group is a group that can be presented in the form G = h x, y | xp = yq = w(x, y)r = 1 i where p, q, r ? 2 and w(x, y) is a cyclically reduced word of length at least 2 in the free product Zp ?

A Microbial Lipid‐ATP Synthase Axis Fuels NK Cell Antitumor Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the mechanism by which gut microbiota‐derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) regulate NK cell antitumor activity. B. intestinalis is identified to decrease extra‐intestinal tumor growth via its OMVs enriched in sphingosine (SP).
