Pyrite oxidation under initially neutral pH conditions and in the presence of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and micromolar hydrogen peroxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at a micromolar level played a role in the microbial surface oxidation of pyrite crystals under initially neutral pH. When the mineral-bacteria system was cyclically exposed to 50 μM H2O2, the colonization of Acidithiobacillus ...

Ultrasound wave propagation through rough interfaces: Iterative methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Two iterative methods for the calculation of acoustic transmission through a rough interface\ud between two media are compared. The methods employ a continuous version of the conjugate\ud gradient technique.

Determination of chromium valence state in the CaO–SiO2–FeO–MgO–CrOx system by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2020
The chromium valence states in the CaO–SiO2–FeO–MgO–CrOx system were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results indicated that the XPS peaks of Cr 2p3/2 and Cr 2p1/2 locate at the binding energy of ∼577 and ∼586 eV, respectively.

Effect of magnesium on the XPS and Raman spectra of (Ba0.5Sr0.5)(Al0.2-xMgxFe0.8)O3-ξ (x ≤ 0.2)

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2021
The perovskite-type cubic oxides have found useful applications in catalysis, solid oxide fuel cells, gas sensors, and membrane technology. XPS and Raman studies of a recently developed (Ba0.5Sr0.5)(Al0.2-xMgxFe0.8)O3-ξ (x = 0–0.2) oxygen-permeable ...

Structure, bonding and morphology of hydrothermally synthesised xonotlite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The authors have systematically investigated the role of synthesis conditions upon the structure and morphology of xonotlite. Starting with a mechanochemically prepared, semicrystalline phase with Ca/Si=1, the authors have prepared a series of xonotlite ...
