X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Social behaviors on XP and non-XP teams: a comparative study [PDF]

open access: yesAgile Development Conference (ADC'05), 2006
This is an ethnographic study of two software development teams within the same organization, one which utilizes the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology and one which does not. This study compares the work routines and work practices of the software developers on the XP team and the non-XP team.

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Dynamics of native oxide growth on CdTe and CdZnTe X-ray and gamma-ray detectors

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2016
We studied the growth of the surface oxide layer on four different CdTe and CdZnTe X-ray and gamma-ray detector-grade samples using spectroscopic ellipsometry. We observed gradual oxidization of CdTe and CdZnTe after chemical etching in bromine solutions.

Giant Magnetic Coercivity Driven by Spin‐Bag Ferromagnetism in Epitaxial Sr3YCo4O10+δ Films with Engineered 2D Oxygen Vacancy Ordering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A giant magnetic coercivity and a vertical shift of hysteresis loops are demonstrated in Sr3YCo4O10+δ epitaxial films. The hard magnetic behavior originates from ferromagnetic spin bags stabilized within a long‐range ordered oxygen‐vacancy structure.

Electron deficient nanoclusters of platinum and palladium on porous silicon

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
The platinum and palladium nanoparticles on the porous silicon were synthesized by radiation - chemical reduction in the solution of reversed micelles. The Pt and Pd nanoclusters obtained are electron deficient.

On the economic evaluation of XP projects

open access: yesACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 2003
From a project economics point of view, the most important practices of Extreme Programming (XP) are Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development. Pair Programming leads to a large increase in the personnel cost, and Test-Driven Development adds to the development effort.
