Upper Limits On Periodic, Pulsed Radio Emission from the X-Ray Point Source in Cassiopeia A [PDF]
The Chandra X-ray Observatory recently discovered an X-ray point source near the center of Cassiopeia A, the youngest known Galactic supernova remnant. We have conducted a sensitive search for radio pulsations from this source with the Very Large Array ...

The Electronic Structure of NiO by means of Electron Spectroscopies and theoretical calculations [PDF]
We report experimental and theoretical evidence of surface effects in the Ni 2p x-ray photoemission spectra XPS of NiO. The Ni 2p3/2 surface-enhanced XPS of a NiO sample show a relative enhancement of the intensity of the known satellite at 1.5 eV higher

XPS Investigation of a CdS-Based Photoresistor under Working Conditions: Operando–XPS [PDF]
A noncontact chemical and electrical measurement X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique is performed to investigate a CdS-based photoresistor during its operation. The main objective of the technique is to trace chemical- and location-specified surface potential variations as shifts of the XPS Cd 3d(5/2) peak position without and under ...

LDA+DMFT approach to core-level spectroscopy: application to 3d transition metal compounds
We present a computational study of 2$p$ core-level X-ray photoemission spectra of transition metal monoxides MO (M=Ni, Co, Mn) and sesquioxides M$_2$O$_3$ (M=V, Cr, Fe) using a theoretical framework based on the local-density approximation (LDA ...
