Chemical potential jump between hole- and electron-doped sides of ambipolar high-Tc cuprate [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In order to study an intrinsic chemical potential jump between the hole- and electron-doped high-Tc superconductors, we have performed core-level X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS) measurements of Y0.38La0.62Ba1.74La0.26Cu3Oy (YLBLCO), into which one

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

A photoelectron spectroscopy study of the electronic structure evolution in CuInSe2-related compounds at changing copper content [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Evolution of the valence-band structure at gradually increasing copper content has been analysed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) in In2Se3, CuIn5Se8, CuIn3Se5, and CuInSe2 single crystals. A comparison of these spectra with calculated total and

Electronic Structure and Valence Band Spectra of Bi4Ti3O12

open access: yes, 1995
The x-ray photoelectron valence band spectrum and x-ray emission valence-band spectra (Ti K _beta_5, Ti L_alpha, O K_alpha) of Bi4Ti3O12 are presented (analyzed in the common energy scale) and interpreted on the basis of a band-structure calculation for ...

A Surface‐engineered Microfluidic Device for Antibody‐Mediated Negative Selection of High‐Quality Sperm for Assisted Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a microfluidic device with a functionalized surface utilizing a polyoxazoline coating and covalently immobilized gold nanoparticles and anti‐phosphatidylserine antibody. The device efficiently eliminates pre‐apoptotic and apoptotic spermatozoa and yields sperm with substantially improved quality and low DNA damage, offering a simple ...

Electron deficient nanoclusters of platinum and palladium on porous silicon

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
The platinum and palladium nanoparticles on the porous silicon were synthesized by radiation - chemical reduction in the solution of reversed micelles. The Pt and Pd nanoclusters obtained are electron deficient.

Dynamics of native oxide growth on CdTe and CdZnTe X-ray and gamma-ray detectors

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2016
We studied the growth of the surface oxide layer on four different CdTe and CdZnTe X-ray and gamma-ray detector-grade samples using spectroscopic ellipsometry. We observed gradual oxidization of CdTe and CdZnTe after chemical etching in bromine solutions.

XPS as a Probe of Gap Opening in Many Electron Systems

open access: yes, 2000
Core hole photoemission (XPS) provides a powerful indirect probe of the low energy excitations of a many electron system. We argue that XPS can be used to study the way in which a gap opens at a metal-superconductor or metal- insulator transition.
