Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Preparation of Rare Earth Lu-doped TiO2 Film by Sol-gel Method and Its Photocatalytic Degradation of Methyl Orange Under Natural Light

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2022
TiO2 can effectively degrade organic pollutants under ultraviolet radiation. Due to the large band gap of TiO2, natural light is not suitable for catalysis, which reduces the applicability of TiO2 materials.

Magnetic behavior of nanocrystalline ErCo2

open access: yes, 2009
We have investigated the magnetic behavior of the nanocrystalline form of a well-known Laves phase compound, ErCo2 - the bulk form of which has been known to undergo an interesting first-order ferrimagnetic ordering near 32 K - synthesized by high-energy

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

Room Temperature Intrinsic Ferromagnetism in Epitaxial Manganese Selenide Films in the Monolayer Limit

open access: yes, 2018
Monolayer van der Waals (vdW) magnets provide an exciting opportunity for exploring two-dimensional (2D) magnetism for scientific and technological advances, but the intrinsic ferromagnetism has only been observed at low temperatures. Here, we report the
