Xylene Vapor Permeation in MFI Zeolite Membranes Made by Templated and Template-Free Secondary Growth of Randomly Oriented Seeds: Effects of Xylene Activity and Microstructure

open access: yes, 2018
Many studies have reported high p-xylene/o-xylene permselectivities with MFI zeolite membranes; however, these results were obtained at low xylene activity (

Small Extracellular Vesicles‐Derived Circ6718 Unlocks Stromal Remodeling and Serves as a Biomarker in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs‐circ6718 serves as a promising serum biomarker for gastric cancer early diagnosis and prognosis, promoting malignant transformation in gastric cancer cells and GC‑MSC differentiation into CAFs. sEVs‑circ6718 holds potential as a biomarker for the early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of gastric cancer.

Whole Genome Shotgun Sequencing-Based Insights into the Benzene and Xylene Degrading Potentials of Bacteria

open access: yesPolish Journal of Microbiology
Due to their hazardous effects on human health and air quality, benzene and xylene constitute the primary pollutants. Coupling the physicochemical strategies with bacterial bioremediation is an emerging mode of decontamination.

Simulation of xylene

open access: yes, 2016
The world of physics is an ever expanding field, and applying the isomorph theory is a fairly new and interesting way of understanding the glass transition phase, viscous liquids and liquids in general.

A Circuit of Mechanically Regulated Transcription Factors Balances Regenerative and Fibrotic Memory of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

TOLUENE METHYLATION TO PARA-XYLENE

open access: yes, 2009
This design project explores the economic viability of a novel technology for the production of para-xylene via the methylation of toluene. Current production processes yield an unsatisfactory equilibrium mixture of xylene isomers only 23% pure in para ...

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Novel Non-Toxic Xylene Substitute (SBO) for Histology

open access: yes, 2011
Xylene has been generally used as a clearing and deparaffinizing agent in histology. Because of the potential toxic and flammable nature of xylene, its substitutes have been introduced into some laboratories.
