Improved secretory expression and characterization of thermostable xylanase and β-xylosidase from Pseudothermotoga thermarum and their application in synergistic degradation of lignocellulose

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2023
Xylanase and β-xylosidase are the key enzymes for hemicellulose hydrolysis. To further improve hydrolysis efficacy, high temperature hydrolysis with thermostable hemicellulases showed promise.

Effect of Glucose on Endo-xylanase and β-xylosidase Production by Fungi Isolated in Indonesia

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2022
Xylanases are widely produced by fungi, and the production of polysaccharide-degrading enzymes, in general, are usually subjected to carbon catabolite repression.

β-Xylosidases: Structural Diversity, Catalytic Mechanism, and Inhibition by Monosaccharides [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
Xylan, a prominent component of cellulosic biomass, has a high potential for degradation into reducing sugars, and subsequent conversion into bioethanol. This process requires a range of xylanolytic enzymes. Among them, β-xylosidases are crucial, because they hydrolyze more glycosidic bonds than any of the other xylanolytic enzymes.

EXPRESSION OF b-XYLOSIDASE ENCODING GENE IN PHIS/ Bacillus megaterium MS SYSTEM

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Tropical and Infectious Disease, 2015
b-Xylosidase encoding gene from G. thermoleovorans IT-08 had been expressed in the pHIS1525/ B. megaterium MS941 system. The b-xylosidase gene (xyl) was inserted into plasmid pHIS1525 and propagated in E. coli DH10b.

Characterization of Cross-Linked Enzyme Aggregates of the Y509E Mutant of a Glycoside Hydrolase Family 52 β-xylosidase from G. stearothermophilus

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs) of the Y509E mutant of glycoside hydrolase family 52 β-xylosidase from Geobacillus stearothermophilus with dual activity of β-xylosidase and xylanase (XynB2Y509E) were prepared.

Xylanase and Xylosidase Activities in Avocado Fruit

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1991
The activities of xylanase and xylosidase were demonstrated in mature avocado (Persea americana Mill.) fruits from different cultivars. When monitored on the day of harvest during the season at 1-month intervals, xylanase activity decreased and xylosidase activity increased between January and February and then remained stable until May. When monitored

Immobilization and Stabilization of Beta-Xylosidases from Penicillium janczewskii [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2016
β-Xylosidases are critical for complete degradation of xylan, the second main constituent of plant cell walls. A minor β-xylosidase (BXYL II) from Penicillium janczewskii was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation (30% saturation) followed by DEAE-Sephadex chromatography in pH 6.5 and elution with KCl.

Characterization of a novel thermostable and xylose-tolerant GH 39 β-xylosidase from Dictyoglomus thermophilum

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2018
Background β-D-xylosidase is a vital exoglycosidase with the ability to hydrolyze xylooligosaccharides to xylose and to biotransform some saponins by cleaving outer β-xylose.
