Constructal design of Y-shaped assembly of fins

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2006
This work relies on constructal design to perform the geometric optimization of the Y-shaped assembly of fins. It is shown numerically that the global thermal resistance of the Y-shaped assembly of fins can be minimized by geometric optimization subject to total volume and fin material constraints.

Neonatal perforation of a Y-shaped sigmoid duplication

Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2001
Tubular colonic duplications are exceedingly rare; the "Y"-shaped forms are exceptional. In the absence of associated low vertebral or urogenital malformations (often fistulas), the tubular colonic malformations frequently stay hidden for several years until a complication develops.

NLO Behavior of Polymers Containing Y‐Shaped Chromophores

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 2007
AbstractNew polyurethanes containing Y‐shaped chromophores, symmetrical derivatives of 4‐(dicyanomethylene)‐2‐methyl‐6‐[p‐(dimethylamino)styryl]‐4H‐pyran, have been prepared. The polymers show high glass transition temperatures (Tg) and a good thermal stability.

The Y-Shaped Hypogastric—Groin Flap

Hand, 1982
We present a technique of providing complete skin cover for total degloving injuries of the hand and distal third of the forearm. This involves the use of a Y-shaped hypogastric groin flap. The proximal portion of the Y is tubed allowing the distal portion of each flap to be applied to the dorsal and volar surfaces respectively.

Performing Microscope-Mounted Y-Shaped Cutting Tests

Journal of Visualized Experiments, 2023
Y-shaped cutting has recently been shown to be a promising method by which to understand the threshold length scale and failure energy of a material, as well as its failure response in the presence of excess deformation energy. The experimental apparatus used in these studies was vertically oriented and required cumbersome steps to adjust the angle ...

Y-shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna

2016 International Conference on Micro-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ICMETE), 2016
This paper presents a design of Y-shaped patch microstrip antenna, which has been achieved by inserting Y-shaped strip in circular hole in square patch microstrip antenna and it has been excited by using microstrip line feed technique. Y-shaped microstrip patch antenna is designed on a FR4 substrate of thickness 1.524mm with relative permittivity of 4 ...

Molecular dynamics studies on the aggregation of Y-shaped fluoroalkanes

Journal of Molecular Modeling, 2002
Molecular dynamics (MD) calculations have been performed on the aggregation of clusters with up to 128 Y-shaped perfluoroalkylated molecules of the type C10F20[C7H15]2 (Y-A/128) and C10H20[C7F15]2 (Y-B/128) as well as mixed clusters (Y-A/64+Y-B/64) using the AMBER 5 program.

An unusual case of Y-shaped right renal vein

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2014
Vascular renal anomalies are frequent, multiple and well described and result from errors in vessel embryogenesis between the 6th and 10th week of gestation. Historically, variations are described in anatomic dissection and currently mostly in image interpretation. We report an anatomic variation concerning the right renal vein which, to our knowledge,
