Molecular dynamics studies on the aggregation of Y-shaped fluoroalkanes

Journal of Molecular Modeling, 2002
Molecular dynamics (MD) calculations have been performed on the aggregation of clusters with up to 128 Y-shaped perfluoroalkylated molecules of the type C10F20[C7H15]2 (Y-A/128) and C10H20[C7F15]2 (Y-B/128) as well as mixed clusters (Y-A/64+Y-B/64) using the AMBER 5 program.

Orientation of a Y-shaped biomolecule adsorbed on a charged surface

Physical Review E, 2002
The adsorption and orientation properties of a Y-shaped biomolecule, which models an immunoglobulin (Ig), on a charged surface are analyzed mesoscopically by Monte Carlo simulations. The orientation is a consequence of the interplay between van der Waals interactions and electrostatic interactions.

Synthesis and optical studies of Y-shaped imidazole derivatives

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2019
A novel series Y-shaped π-expanded imidazole based chromophores was designed and synthesized. The series contains thirteen 2-aryl-4,5-bis[2-(aryl)vinyl)]-1H-imidazoles (6a-6m), which were characterized by spectroscopic analysis. The structures of compounds 6d and 6j were also confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Y-Shaped Hole for Film Cooling

Volume 8: Heat Transfer and Thermal Engineering; Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Fluids
Abstract Adiabatic effectiveness (η) of film cooling is strongly affected by the geometry of the film-cooling hole. This study presents a new shaped-hole design, referred to as the Y-shaped hole, that seeks to increase η by splitting the cooling flow into three streams for increased lateral spreading and by decreasing the flow’s cross-

Increasing the Flow Output by Y-Shaped Microvascular Anastomosis

Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2002
In this paper the authors present a new type of microvascular anastomosis to overcome two major inconveniences in microsurgery: "flow discrepancy" and vessel size discrepancy between the donor and the recipient vessels. A Y-shaped anastomosis is an end-to-end anastomosis between three vessels: two small ones on one side and a larger vessel on the ...

Oscillatory flow in a y-shaped bifurcation.

Acta physiologica latino americana, 1977
Fluid particle trajectories in oscillatory flow in Y-branched tubes of equal radii were quantitatively analyzed for an oscillatory number square root 2pi/Tv.ro of the order of unity and qualitatively for an oscillatory number of the order of 25. Radial distribution of trajectories and secondary motions are described.

The Y‐Shaped Pattern of Alopecia Reduction and Its Variations

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1984
Abstract The Y‐shaped alopecia reduction is used less frequently than indicated. This article outlines the advantages of this pattern, describes the technique of excision in detail, discusses the many variations possible, and advocates greater utilization of this procedure.
