Features of ZrO2–Y2O3 System Nanopowders with a Different Y2O3 Content

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2015
Combination light scattering spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy are used to study ZrO2 powder stabilized with 2, 3, 5, and 7 mol.% Y2O3. Changes in spectra are demonstrated connected with an increase in amount ofstabilizing addition. Differential thermal analysis establishes that variation of Y2O3 content affects the position of peaks for thermal ...

Oxygen Self-Diffusion in Y2O3 and Y2O3-ZrO2 Solid Solution

1985
Yttrium oxide (Y2O3) C-type cubic rare-earth-oxide crystal structure. This structure is described as a modified fluorite-type cubic structure where one fourth of the anion sites are vacant and regularly arranged. Some studies concerning the point defect disorder (Tallan and Vest, 1966; Odier et al., 1971; Rifflet et al., 1975) and self-diffusion ...

Y2O3‒SiO2 SYSTEM DIAGRAM

Ferrous Metallurgy. Bulletin of Scientific , Technical and Economic Information, 2022
The deoxidizing ability of yttrium has not been sufficiently studied, although it has a high affinity for oxygen. In ferrous metallurgy, yttrium is often used in the form of an alloy with silicon. The effect of each of the components of the silicoyttrium alloy on the process of liquid metal deoxidation can be established by studying the Fe‒Y‒Si‒O ...

Y2O3-Ga2O3 phase diagram

Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2009
Phase relations in the Y2O3-Ga2O3 system were studied by the anneal-and-quench technique in air within 1000–2300°C, and a phase diagram was plotted. Three compounds were found to form: Y3GaO6, Y4Ga2O9, and Y3Ga5O12; the temperature and concentration bounds of stability were determined for these compounds. Indexing results for Y3GaO6 are given.

Synthesis and luminescence of spherical Y2O3:Eu3+ and Y2O3:Eu3+/Bi3+ particles

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2016
Y2O3:Eu3+ and Y2O3:Eu3+/Bi3+ particles with spherical morphology are synthesized by microwave-assistant hydrothermal process. The results show that cubic phase Y2O3:Eu3+ and Y2O3:Eu3+/Bi3+ particles with uniform size and spherical shape are obtained. The doping Eu3+ and Bi3+ ion have no influence on the phase and morphology of samples.

Phase relations in the systems ZrO2Y2O3Nd2O3 and ZrO2Y2O3CeO2

Materials Research Bulletin, 1986
Abstract The phase relations of ZrO 2 Y 2 O 3 Nd 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 Y 2 O 3 CeO 2 systems have been studied at 1100–1600°C. The single region of the fluorite phase was intensively examined using the relation between lattice parameter and composition.

The structural and electrical comparison of Y2O3 and Ti-doped Y2O3 dielectrics

Ceramics International, 2017
A Ti-doped Y2O3(Y2Ti2O5) dielectric on polycrystalline silicon followed by rapid thermal annealing results in improved characteristics including a higher effective dielectric constant, higher breakdown electric field, lower electron trapping rate, and larger charge-to-breakdown when compared with Y2O3.

Hydrothermal synthesis of Y2O3 coated Y2O3:Eu3+ nanotubes for enhanced photoluminescence properties

Materials Research Bulletin, 2015
Abstract Novel Y 2 O 3 coated Y 2 O 3 :Eu 3+ nanotubes with different coating ratios were synthesized successfully by a facile two-step process, including hydrothermal synthesis of Y(OH) 3 coated Y(OH) 3 :Eu 3+ as precursors and then calcination of them at 1000 °C for 2 h. X-ray diffraction patterns and field emission scanning electron microscope

Photo- and radiation-induced preparation of Y2O3 and Y2O3:Ce(Eu) nanocrystals

Journal of Nanoparticle Research, 2012
A convenient method for preparation of pure and doped yttrium oxide was developed, which is based on irradiation of solutions containing yttrium nitrate and ammonium formate with UV light or accelerated electrons. Solid phase formed under irradiation was consequently calcined at 500 °C or higher temperatures to obtain nanocrystalline yttrium oxide ...

Synthesis and characterization of Y2O3-ZrO2 and Y2O3-CeO2-ZrO2 precursor powders

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 1996
Abstract Thixotropic gels of the precursor powders of the titled compounds have been prepared by the addition of oxalic acid to the mixed solutions of metal salts at room temperature (≈ 27 °C). The clear sols of yttrium-zirconyl oxalate (YZO) and yttrium-cerium-zirconyl oxalate (YCZO) gelled within a few hours and were oven-dried at 40 °C.
