A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Effect of trace Y2O3 on microstructure and properties of WC−6Co cemented carbides with inhomogeneous structure

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Inhomogeneous structure WC−6Co cemented carbides with the different Y2O3 additions (mass fraction) were prepared by low pressure sintering. The microstructure and properties of the cemented carbides were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM),

Effect of the addition of Y and Y2O3 on microstructure and mechanical properties of 15Cr-15Ni ODS steel

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2022
15Cr-15Ni ODS steels with the addition of Y or Y2O3 were fabricated via the mechanical alloying and hot isostatic pressing, followed by forging treatment (named as 15Cr-15Ni-Y and 15Cr-15Ni-Y2O3, respectively). The morphology of as-milled powders of 15Cr-

Optical properties of nanocrystalline Y2O3:Eu3+ [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2005
Optical properties of nanocrystalline red-emitting phosphor, europium-doped yttria (Y2O3:Eu3+), of average particle size of 15nm are investigated. The intensity of the strongest emission line at 612nm is found to be highest in the nanocrystalline sample with 4at.wt% of europium. The narrow electronic emission spectrum suggests a crystalline surrounding

Effect of RGO-Y2O3 and RGO-Y2O3:Cr3+ Nano Composite Sensor for Dopamine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract The RGO-Y2O3 and RGO-Y2O3: Cr3+ (5 mol %) nanocomposite (NC) synthesized a simple hydrothermal technique. The structure and morphology of the synthesized NCs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Neodymium‐Doped Nanocrystals for Sensing Cellular Temperature at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Neodymium‐doped NaYF4 nanocrystals are engineered as bright, biocompatible nanothermometers for intracellular temperature mapping. Their ratiometric near‐infrared emission enables highly sensitive, nanoscale thermal readouts in living cells. Combined with gold nanostars for photothermal therapy, they reveal pronounced subcellular heating heterogeneity ...
