A ceramic based Yb3+:YAG laser
Laser Physics, 2010We report the performance of a laser based on a 9.8% doped ceramic Yb3+:YAG operating in quasi Continuous Wave (QCW) and in Continuous Wave (CW) at room temperature. The maximum output power of 9 W with a slope efficiency of 73% at 1030 nm was achieved in QCW.

Nd-YAG laser as a surgical tool
Neurosurgical Review, 1984As neurological operation has necessitated effective haemostatic devices, CO2 and Nd-YAG lasers have been introduced in this field. The CO2 laser was first studied and used in neurological surgery and many problems, such as safety, mobility, and others, were overcome by pioneers.

The use of the Nd‐YAG laser in neurosurgery
Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 1985AbstractWhereas the focused CO2 laser may be used as a cutting instrument in less vascularized tissue with limited trauma to the surrounding tissue, use of the defocused Nd‐YAG laser results in homogeneous coagulation with an energy‐dependent depth effect.

Use of the Nd-YAG laser in neurosurgery
Neurosurgical Review, 1984After many years of experience, in general we prefer the Nd-YAG laser, although the CO2 laser is an advantage in a few specific cases (lipomas, cranial synostosis). While the focused CO2 laser may be used as a cutting instrument in less vascular tissue with little trauma to the surroundings, the Nd-YAG laser produces a homogeneous coagulation with an ...

[Laser lithotripsy with the neodymium YAG laser].
Der Urologe. Ausg. A, 1991Laser-induced shock wave lithotripsy (LISL) with a Q-switched neodymium-YAG laser depends on the generation of a laser-induced breakdown in the fluid surrounding the stone. An oscillating plasma bubble is created, directing shock waves towards the stone. These cavitational effects fragment the calculus into small particles.

Laser prostatectomy with the holmium: YAG laser.
Techniques in urology, 1997Laser prostatectomy has generated considerable interest amongst urologists as an alternative to traditional transurethral resection for the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy. The majority of reports available concerning laser prostatectomy have described use of the neodymium: YAG wavelength delivered via contact or non contact fibers. Recently,

Microvascular Repair With Neodymium-YAG Laser
1979Various techniques have been employed in the past for repair of accidental injuries and planned incisions of small blood vessels. Of these, microsuture is the most widely used. This method is time-consuming, and vascular occlusions may be required for periods longer than considered safe in the case of such organs as the brain.
