Real‐time monitoring of root dielectric properties for assessing crop plant damage caused by foliar application of glyphosate

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise There is a knowledge gap regarding how foliar injury and restricted water uptake can be detected by measuring root dielectric response. This pot study nondestructively evaluated the efficiency of real‐time dielectric measurement to monitor the effects of glyphosate spraying.

Dietary Glutamine Supplementation Alleviated Rumen Epithelium Oxidative Damage and Apoptosis Induced by Feed Restriction via Maintaining Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Female Yaks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary glutamine (Gln) supplementation increased the ATP levels and promoted cell proliferation in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks. Besides, Gln inhibited ROS accumulation and reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks.

Yak and Tibet sheep grazing ingestion restrain seed germination of two Saussurea species in Tibetan meadow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Grazing disturbance had been defined as an important mechanism that allows the maintenance of species diversities in plant communities. To help understand effect of grazing on seed germination characteristics, we conducted a laboratory germination ...

Genetic Diversity, Adaptation, Wild Introgression, and Coat Color Mutation of Golden Yak

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Genetic diversity, adaptation, wild introgression, and coat color mutation of golden yak from two populations on the Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau. ABSTRACT The golden yak lives on the Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau with a golden coat and adapts to high altitudes and strong ultraviolet environment. The golden coat is a prominent phenotype in many domesticated species,

MicroRNA‐Seq Analysis Reveals a Critical Role for miR‐222 in Bovine Intramuscular Adipogenesis via the DDIT4/mTORC1 Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram illustrating how miR‐222 promotes bovine intramuscular adipogenesis by targeting DDIT4 to activate the mTORC1 signaling pathway. ABSTRACT Intramuscular fat (IMF) is a key determinant of beef quality, particularly with respect to tenderness, flavor, and juiciness.

Whole-Genome Resequencing Reveals Population Genetic Structure and Selection Signatures in the Golden Wild Yak

open access: yesDiversity
The wild yak (Bos mutus) is a flagship species on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, possessing significant ecological functions and conservation value. Using single-nucleotide polymorphism markers from whole-genome resequencing, we systematically analyzed ...
