Innovative Therapeutic Endoscopy of the Upper Gastrointestinal Tract: Review of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society Core Sessions

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT The Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) established four core sessions on endoscopic treatment for upper gastrointestinal diseases under the theme ‘Innovative Therapeutic Endoscopy’ between 2023 and 2024. This review summarizes these sessions and compiles them as a conference report. At the 105th JGES Core Session, 14 studies

Geographical proliferation of ongoing novel host use by the herbivorous ladybird beetle Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)

open access: yesEntomological Science, Volume 29, Issue 4, December 2026.
The geographical extent of occurrence of the Solanaceae‐feeding Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata on the novel fabaceous host Centrosema molle and the ability of larvae from several beetle populations to develop on C. molle were investigated to depict the incipient phase in the speciation continuum of herbivorous ladybird beetles.

Mixing and Compounding of Graphene/High Density Polyethylene Nanocomposites Using Twin‐Screw and Octa‐Screw Extrusions: A Comparative Study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 42, November 10, 2026.
Advanced octa‐screw extrusion offers a breakthrough in compounding high‐viscosity polymer nanocomposites. By comparing twin‐ and octa‐screw extruders, this study reveals that the octa‐screw's unique intermeshing geometry achieves superior graphene exfoliation while preventing thermal degradation.

Müller Glia Subtypes Define Neuro‐Glial Associations and Spatial Morphogen Axes in the Zebrafish Retina

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 11, November 2026.
Zebrafish Müller glia are heterogeneous in the early larval retina. Zebrafish Müller glia subtypes define a spatial axis of retinoic acid metabolism. Neuron‐associated glial programs identified in Zebrafish Müller glia are evolutionarily conserved in mammals. ABSTRACT Müller glia are instrumental macroglia of the vertebrate retina, once thought to be a

Leaf Morphological Responses to Serpentine Soils in Shikoku, Japan: A Review of Common Patterns and Developmental Diversity

open access: yesEcological Research, Volume 41, Issue 6, November 2026.
We compared multiple woody and herbaceous plants growing on Japanese serpentine soils to identify common morphological responses. Leaves were generally smaller or thinner, and stomatal traits changed differently between woody and herbaceous species, reflecting low water retention.
