Physicochemical and Sensory Analyses of Purple and Yellow Passion Fruit
International Research Journal of Horticulture, 2014Brazil it's the second country with higher diversity of PASSIFLORACEAE. The genus Passiflora L. is the richest one with over 500 species mainly distributed in tropical America. The most consumed, studied, cultivated and commercialized is P. edulis, which is commonly found in two forms, the purple and the yellow passion fruits.

Enantioselective Analysis of Secondary Alcohols and Their Esters in Purple and Yellow Passion Fruits
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2007The enantiomeric compositions of the acetates, butanoates, hexanoates, and octanoates of the secondary alcohols 2-pentanol, 2-heptanol, and 2-nonanol were determined in yellow (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa) and purple (Passiflora edulis Sims) passion fruits.

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006Yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa Degener) rind pectic substances were fractionated with water, ammonium oxalate, and dilute acid solutions. The extracted pectins were rich in anhydrogalacturonic acid and had a low degree of methyl esterification.

Thus, an experiment was carried out from May 2002 to February 2004 to evaluate the fruit quality and macronutrient foliar contents of biofertilized yellow passion plants in Brazil.
