Effect of Body Condition Score at Calving on Adaptive Immune Function During Early Lactation in New Zealand Dairy Cows: Effect of calving body condition on adaptive immune function

open access: yes, 2014
The extent of postpartum negative energy balance in dairy cows is positively associated with body condition score (BCS) at calving. Results of epidemiological studies have indicated that calving BCS is positively correlated with several indicators of ...

Enhancing Generic Reaction Yield Prediction through Reaction Condition-Based Contrastive Learning

open access: yesResearch
Deep learning (DL)-driven efficient synthesis planning may profoundly transform the paradigm for designing novel pharmaceuticals and materials. However, the progress of many DL-assisted synthesis planning (DASP) algorithms has suffered from the lack of ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

The genetic relationship between commencement of luteal activity and calving interval, body condition score, production, and linear type traits in Holstein-Friesian dairy cattle

open access: yes, 2002
The decline of fertility in the UK dairy herd and the unfavorable genetic correlation (r(a)) between fertility and milk yield has necessitated the broadening of breeding goals to include fertility.

US yield forecasting using crop condition ratings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This thesis studied the relationship between US average yield for the five main crops grown in the United States, corn, soybeans, upland cotton, winter wheat, and spring wheat, and crop condition ratings from 1986 to 2015.

Effects of disk tillage on soil condition, crop yield and weed infestation

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2002
This research was instigated by the fact that during the last decade annually repeated shallow disk tillage on the same field became frequent practice in Hungary.

Yield of early potatoes in the conditions of western Serbia

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture
The goal of the research was to determine the variation in the yield of early potatoes in the conditions of western Serbia. During 2021 and 2022, the experiment was carried out at the site of KO Bogatić, the area of the village of Belotić (65 m above sea level, chernozem), 44˚ 49' N, 19˚ 32' E.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Using Wheat Chromosomal Substitution Lines to Study Relationship between Yield and its Components under Water-Stress and Non-Stress Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesIkufīziyuluzhī-i Giyāhān-i Zirā̒ī, 2017
To evaluate relationship between grain yield and its components, two series of wheat`s substitution lines including substitution lines of ‘Timstein’ into genetic background of ‘Chinese Spring’ and ‘Red Egyptian’ into genetic background of ‘Chinese Spring’
