Modeling Conditional Yield Densities

American Journal of Agricultural Economics, 2003
Given the increasing interest in agricultural risk, many have sought improved methods to characterize conditional crop‐yield densities. While most have postulated the Beta as a flexible alternative to the Normal, others have chosen nonparametric methods.

Rheological yield condition

Rheologica Acta, 1974
Rheological problems are non-homogeneous, aelotropic, non-linear and irreversible. If a start is made with the stress-tensor field, one soon runs into a number of difficulties. The strain tensor is defined for any type of medium-homogeneous, heterogeneous, isotropic, aelotropic and hence should be a suitable vehicle for investigation the yield ...

Range of Yield Conditions in Ideal Plasticity

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1961
Properties of ideal rigig plastic solids are used to define bounding yield conditions that remain valid when test results are available for only one stress state, such as simple tension or simple shear; use of maximum shear stress criterion of Tresca and new criterion designated as maximum reduced stress criterion enables best possible bounds to be ...

Hall's condition yields less for multicolorings [PDF]

open access: possibleAustralas. J Comb., 2020
The main result is the following: Let \(G\) be a finite simple graph, \(L\) be a vertex list assignment and \(k:V(G)\rightarrow \{X\mid X\) finite subset of \(S\}\) such that \(k(v)=1\) for all cut vertices \(v\in V(G)\). Then \(G\), \(L\) and \(k\) satisfying Hall's condition is sufficient for the existence of a proper \((L,k)\)-coloring if and only ...

Studies of the anisotropic yield condition

Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 1969
Abstract A method of determining the subsequent yield condition is proposed on the basis of theoretical and experimental studies of the yield surfaces in the deviatoric plane. The yield surfaces as calculated by this method are compared with the results obtained by the biaxial testing of brass plate. A fairly good agreement is found between the two

Tresca’s Yield Condition and the Rotating Disk

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1983
The displacement field belonging to the elastic-plastic stress field in a rotating solid disk that can be found with the help of Tresca’s yield condition, in textbooks on plasticity, is discontinuous at the elastic-plastic interface. Tresca’s yield condition cannot be applied to this problem since its associated flow rule predicts a negative plastic ...

On the conditional decision procedure for high yield processes

Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2007
Cumulative Count of Conforming (CCC) items chart has shown to be an effective tool for monitoring high yield processes. However, this chart uses a single count value to determine whether a change in a process has occurred. This makes the chart relatively insensitive to process shifts. To improve the performance of the chart, values of the previous runs

Visco-plastic flow and the tresca yield condition

Applied Scientific Research, 1970
This paper is concerned with a rigid visco-plastic solid which obeys the Tresca yield condition and an associated flow rule. Generalizations of both linear and nonlinear relationships between the rate of deformation and shearing stress in excess of the yield for simple shear flow are obtained from a complementary function.
