Health Status of Ready-to-Plant Grapevine Nursery Material in Canada Regarding Young Vine Decline Fungi

Plant Disease, 2023
Young vine decline (YVD), caused by several taxonomically different fungi, results in the decline and death of grapevines within a few years after planting. Infection can occur in nursery mother blocks and/or at several stages in the nursery propagation process, but the final plant material may remain asymptomatic.

Different grapevine bench grafting methods affect wood necrosis associated with young declines of grafted vines

2021
Grapevine grafting has become an essential practice in viticulture and over the years various bench grafting techniques have evolved to mechanize the nursery process and to increase the yield in number of viable cuttings. Bench grafting is a fundamental nursery practice that affects the quality of propagation material also in young decline associated ...

The decline of the young vines grafted onto 161-49 C

Acta Horticulturae, 2016
The 161-49 C is a rootstock widely used in France. In 2010, its surface represented more than 4% of potential of the nurseries (82 ha), ranking in 8th position for rootstock varieties in France (statistics 2011 from FranceAgriMer). Although ten clones are officially registered in the French catalogue, clones 176 and 198 represent 85% of the total ...
