Propagation material borne fungus pathogens causing early stock decay in vineyards

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2011
A decline, a slow or sudden decay of vine trunks can occur in any phase of trunk life. In senescent or old plantages the increase in trunk decay is quite common but it is unacceptable in young plantage in their best production years. All over the world as

Urbanization and Spatial Aggregation Impair Multifunctionality in Urban Vacant Lots. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
This study provides the first assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem multifunctionality in urban vacant lots. Although urbanization and spatial aggregation of vacant lots impaired multifunctionality, soil moisture improved it. ABSTRACT Urban shrinkage, driven by population decline rather than expansion, is an emerging concern in many developed ...

Phase‐Change Alloys Enable Localized Reversible Stiffening and Actuation in Steerable Eversion Tip‐Growing Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work presents a tip‐growing eversion robot that uses phase‐changing alloys for reversible stiffening and localized actuation, achieving 43× stiffness modulation, 15× force amplification, and segmental steering. The system enables precise navigation and force delivery in constrained, tortuous pathways.

“Am I being responsible?”: Navigating coming‐of‐age transitions through personal financial information management

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract This research explored how young adults (ages 18–25) learn to use financial records and the roles financial records play in their experiences in coming to see themselves as financially mature social actors. The contribution of this paper is a revised model of transitions theory that includes personal information management (PIM) as an ...

Early evolutionary history of the seed

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The seed is an essential stage in the life history of gymnospermous and angiospermous plants, facilitating both their survival and dispersal. We reappraise knowledge of the evolutionary history of the gymnospermous seed, from its origin in the late Devonian through to the well‐known end‐Permian extinctions – an interval encompassing the ...

Contextual Injustice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Contextualist treatments of clashes of intuitions can allow that two claims, apparently in conflict, can both be true. But making true utterances is far from the only thing that matters — there are often substantive normative questions about what ...
