Structure - Property Relationships of Ni/YSZ and Ni/(YSZ+TiO2) Cermets
Fuel Cells, 2001Cermets composed of nickel metal and Y2O3-ZrO2-TiO2 ternary ceramics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, dilatometry, electrical and microstructural measurements and are regarded as improved anode materials with respect to long-term stability. With increasing titania content it was possible to minimise the electrical and microstructural changes ...

Agglomeration behavior of nickel particles on YSZ and TiO2-doped YSZ electrolytes
Journal of Power Sources, 2012Abstract Agglomeration behavior of nickel thin films on the yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and TiO 2 doped-YSZ electrolytes under a reducing condition and at solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) operating temperatures was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning probe microscopy (SPM) to clarify whether this method is appropriate to

ac polarization phenomena of the YSZ/Rh and YSZ/Pd electrode systems
Solid State Ionics, 1989Abstract Electrode characteristics of YSZ/Rh and YSZ/Pd were studied as a function of oxygen partial pressure and temperature by ac impedance spectroscopy. Similar impedance spectra were observed in both systems. Below the decomposition pressure of Rh 2 O 3 and PdO the impedance spectrum consisted of two arcs. Both arcs, especially the low frequency

LaZrCeO/YSZ TBCs by EB-PVD: microstructural evolution, residual stress and degradation behavior
Materials Chemistry Frontiers, 2019The evolution of TGO, residual stress and element depletion appears to be relevant to the degradation of LZC/YSZ DCL TBCs.

Abstract Hot corrosion is one of the main destructive factors in thermal barrier coatings (TBC s ) which comes as a result of molten salt effect on the coating–gas interface. Hot corrosion behavior of three types of plasma sprayed TBCs was evaluated: (a) usual YSZ (yttria-stabilized zirconia), (b) particle composite of (YSZ + Al 2 O 3 ) and (c ...

Thermoelectric power of an yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thermocell, Pt|YSZ|Ptm has been determined at 1273 K in different atmospheres. The atmospheres used have been mixtures of O2-inert gases, CO-CO2 and H2-H2O. Oxygen partial pressures ranged between 1 and 10-21 atm. The yttria content in the YSZ was 8 mol%.

Degradation of SPS-Fabricated YSZ and Nd2O3-YSZ Ceramics in Supercritical Water
Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2016Zirconia (ZrO2) ceramics are being considered as a candidate material for thermal insulating barriers in pressure tubes used in the supercritical water (SCW) nuclear reactors. However, the literature suggests that zirconia may undergo a detrimental phase transformation which is accelerated in aqueous environments.
