The temperature of the solid‐state synthesis of pure (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 piezo‐composition is reduced by using the niobium pentoxide reactant in the mixture of reagents after attrition milling for only 3h: a majoritarian (57 wt.% of the total Nb2O5 content) orthorhombic polymorph Pbam.

Thermal Expansion of Yttria Stabilized Zirconia
Today the state of the art material for Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) is Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition (EB-PVD) Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ). As shown in the phase diagram by Scott different polymorphs of YSZ can be obtained by varying the Yttria content.
