Effect of sintering cycle on the strength and translucency of multilayered zirconia

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose A newly introduced sintering protocol promises to offer higher translucency while not significantly compromising the flexural strength of the material. However, the effect of the novel sintering protocol has not been thoroughly validated.

Re‐optimization of the FeO–Fe2O3–SiO2 system integrated with experimental phase equilibria studies

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 108, Issue 9, September 2025.
Abstract The Fe–Si–O system is important in understanding the slag chemistry of copper production which involves fayalite slags. It is also an important part of a 20‐component Cu‐Pb‐Zn‐Fe‐Ca‐Si‐O‐S‐Al‐Mg‐Cr‐Na‐As‐Sn‐Sb‐Bi‐Ag‐Au‐Ni‐Co thermodynamic database being developed for multiple processes and applications of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy. The

Yttria and ceria doped zirconia thin films grown by pulsed laser deposition

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2013
The Yttria stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) is a standard electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), which are potential candidates for next generation portable and mobile power sources. YSZ electrolyte thin films having a cubic single phase allow reducing

Influence of Al‐doped SrTiO3 cores on hydrogen evolution from SrTiO3/TiO2 core‒shell catalysts

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 108, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract The hydrogen produced by Al‐doped SrTiO3/TiO2 core‒shell catalysts with a range of Al‐doped SrTiO3 cores and the same TiO2 shell are compared. The study included SrTiO3 cores doped with different amounts of Al (0, 1, 2, or 3 mol%) added at different points in the synthesis (prior to or during the molten salt treatment) and at different ...

Emittance and absorptance of NASA ceramic thermal barrier coating system [PDF]

open access: yes
Spectral emittance measurements were made on a two-layer ceramic thermal barrier coating system consisting of a metal substrate, a NiCrAly bond coating and a yttria-stabilized zirconia ceramic coating.
