The effect of the yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) nanoparticle loading in an electro-less bath was considered as one of the vital synthesis variables for control Ni content and microstructure of prepared nanocomposite particles, which are two crucial factors to achieving high-performance SOFC anode. Nanocomposite particles were prepared using a simple

Surface cleaning and characterization of yttria‐stabilized zirconia
Surface and Interface Analysis, 2002Abstract Cleaning substrate surfaces and checking the effectiveness of the cleaning method are two very important aspects of reliable surface analysis. The absence of a cleaning process leading to an yttria‐stabilized zirconia (YSZ) surface that is free of contaminants and of unchanged structure has inspired us to investigate a new ...

Abstract Bulk and grain boundary diffusion of Nb5+ cations in yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ, 8 mol% Y2O3–92 mol% ZrO2) and in titania-doped yttria-stabilized zirconia (Ti–YSZ, 5 mol% TiO2–8 mol% Y2O3–87 mol% ZrO2) was studied in air in the temperature range from 900 to 1300 °C. Experiments were performed in the B-type kinetic region.

The low bonding strength between hydroxyapatite (HA) and the metal substrate interface of plasma‐sprayed HA coating has been a point of potential weakness in its application as a biomedical prosthesis. In the present study, yttria‐stabilized (8 wt%) zirconia (YSZ) has been used to enhance the mechanical properties of HA coatings.

Threshold displacement energy in yttria‐stabilized zirconia
physica status solidi c, 2007AbstractWe have studied the color center production in yttria‐stabilized zirconia single crystals (i.e. ZrO2: Y with 9.5 mol% Y2O3) with the (100) orientation, by electron irradiations at energies ranging between 1.0 and 2.5 MeV. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements show that three paramagnetic centers are stable at room‐temperature: i ...
