Dense zig-zag microstructures in YSZ thin films by pulsed laser deposition
The very brittle oxygen ion conductor yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is a typical solid electrolyte for miniaturized thin film fuel cells. In order to decrease the fuel cell operating temperature, the thickness of yttria stabilized zirconia thin films ...

Anion Exchange Pathways in Half‐Heusler‐Type Holmium Hydride Oxide HoHO
The oxidation of half‐Heusler‐type holmium hydride oxide HoHO in air is tracked by in situ neutron powder diffraction, revealing Ho2H0.50O2.75 as the holmium analogue of the Y2H0.50O2.75 intermediate in YHO. Despite nearly identical ionic radii and closely related intermediate structures, the holmium system shows a narrower stability range and faster ...

The study has identified mutations in the voltage gated sodium channel of the English grain aphid (Sitobion avenae) at M918 and L932, which have not been previously reported in this species. Abstract BACKGROUND The grain aphid, Sitobion avenae Fabricius (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a vector of yellow dwarf viruses and an important pest of cereals.

A homologous BZCYYb1711 cathode skeleton was constructed using the same material as the electrolyte, and active components were introduced into the skeleton via nitrate impregnation to form a nanocomposite cathode. This strategy effectively alleviated the thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) mismatches between the cathode and electrolyte.

Quasi‐In Situ 4D‐STEM Mapping of Exsolution Driven Parent Matrix Restructuring in Sr2FeMoO6‐δ
How does catalytic exsolution alter its parent matrix in realistic solid oxide cells? A beam‐artifact‐free, quasi‐in situ 4D‐STEM methodology maps intrinsic nanoscale transformations in bulk Sr2FeMoO6‐δ electrodes. Correlative identical‐location imaging reveals that surface exsolution inherently couples with profound crystallographic reorganization and
