Ten‐Year Results of a Prospective Study on One‐Piece Zirconia Oral Implants for Single‐Tooth Reconstruction

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives The intention of this 10‐year prospective cohort investigation was to clinically and radiographically investigate the outcomes of a one‐piece zirconia implant system for single‐tooth replacement. Materials and Methods A total of 65 patients received 66 single‐tooth implants restored with all‐ceramic crowns.

Ultrafast high‐temperature sintering of dental grade 4YSZ ceramics: Effects on microstructure and flexural strength

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study compares the effects of ultrafast high‐temperature sintering (UHS) and conventional sintering on the microstructural and mechanical properties of 4 mol% yttria‐stabilized zirconia, a ceramic widely used in dental restorations for its high strength, biocompatibility, and aesthetic qualities.

Interdiffusion kinetics of yttria and alumina

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, EarlyView.
Abstract The interdiffusion kinetics of yttria‐alumina diffusion couples produced by spark plasma sintering (SPS) were investigated at 1350°C, 1425°C, and 1500°C. The SPS diffusion couples were heat‐treated in air at their sintering temperatures for 0, 24, and 96 h.

Impact Resistance of Yttria- and Ceria-Doped Zirconia Ceramics in Relation to Their Tetragonal-to-Monoclinic Transformation Ability

open access: yesCeramics
In this work, the impact resistance of three zirconia ceramics was investigated: two yttria-stabilized zirconia (3Y-TZP and 1.5Y-TZP) and a ceria-stabilized-zirconia (Ce-TZP) composite.

Fracture behavior of grain boundaries in (U,Pu)O2 fuels: An atomistic study

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Classical atomistic simulations using the Cooper–Rushston–Grimes potential were carried out to observe the stability and the fracture properties of six special grain boundaries in (U1−x${\rm U}_{1-x}$, Pux)O2${\rm Pu}_x){\rm O}_2$. The formation energy decreases as a function of Pu content, while the cleavage energy increases.

Optimizing Hard and Soft‐Tissue Esthetics With Anterior Cantilever Zirconia Ceramic Resin‐Bonded Fixed Dental Prostheses

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The replacement of missing maxillary lateral incisors poses both functional and esthetic challenges, not only from a restorative but also from a periodontal aspect. This case report presents a step‐by‐step protocol for ideal hard and soft‐tissue esthetics with cantilever zirconia ceramic resin‐bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs).

Radiation Tolerance of Nanocrystalline Ceramics: Insights from Yttria Stabilized Zirconia

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
Materials for applications in hostile environments, such as nuclear reactors or radioactive waste immobilization, require extremely high resistance to radiation damage, such as resistance to amorphization or volume swelling.
