Quantification of nonlinear absorption in ternary As-Sb-Se chalcogenide glasses

open access: yes, 2018
In this article, we studied intensity dependent third order nonlinear optical response in ternary As40Sb7Se53 and As40Sb10Se50 chalcogenide glasses by employing nanosecond Z-scan technique.

Third-order nonlinear optical response of push-pull azobenzene polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The nonlinear optical response of a series of azo-containing side-chain polymers is investigated using Z-scan technique, employing 35 ps and 4 ns laser pulses, at 532 nm.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Third- and fifth-order optical nonlinearities of norbixin

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2022
In this work, we investigated the nonlinear response of norbixin (C24H28O4) in acetone. The third- and fifth-order optical nonlinearities were measured using the conventional Z-scan technique, with 357 fs laser pulses at 1040 nm and low-repetition rate ...

Nonlinear absorption reversing between an electroactive ligand and its metal complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present the nonlinear absorption investigation of an electroactive ligand and two ruthenium and iron metal complexes under 532 nm, 30 ps laser excitation, by the open aperture Z-scan technique.

Modified Z-scan techniques for investigations of nonlinear chiroptical effects

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
We present simple modifications of the classic Z-scan technique for the investigations of nonlinear chiroptical effects, i.e. nonlinear circular birefringence and two-photon circular dichroism. Two methods for studying these effects: a "polarimetric Z-scan" and a "polarization modulated Zscan" are described in detail.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Intensity correlation scan (IC-scan) technique to characterize the optical nonlinearities of scattering media

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Light scattering, whether caused by desired or spurious elements, is considered one of the main phenomena that present great challenges for the nonlinear (NL) optical characterization of turbid media.
