Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

The correlations between the twin kHz QPO frequencies of LMXBs
We analyzed the recently published kHz QPO data in the neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs), in order to investigate the different correlations of the twin peak kilohertz quasi-eriodic oscillations (kHz QPOs) in bright Z sources and in the less ...

ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive Based on Maximum boost control Z-source SVPWM
This paper presents a Z-source inverter drive system for permanent magnet synchronous motor. A maximum boost control strategy for space vector PWM is presented for controlling the ride though ability of the converter.

A wide input-voltage range quasi-Z source boost DC-DC converter with high voltage-gain for fuel cell vehicles [PDF]
A quasi-Z-source Boost DC-DC converter which uses a switched-capacitor is proposed for fuel cell vehicles. The topology can obtain a high voltage gain with a wide input-voltage range, and requires only a low voltage stress across each of the components ...

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Developmental Disorders in Children Recently Diagnosed With Cancer
ABSTRACT Neurocognitive deficits in adult survivors of childhood cancer are well established, but less is known about developmental disorders (DD) arising shortly after cancer diagnosis. Using 2016–2019 linked Ohio cancer registry and Medicaid data, we compared DD among 324 children with cancer and 606,913 cancer‐free controls.

Coupled HBO and NBO variations in the Z source GX 5-1: inner accretion disk as the location of QPOs
The simultaneous and coupled evolution of horizontal branch oscillation (HBO) and normal branch oscillation (NBO) in Z-type sources suggests that the production of HBO is connected to NBO and is caused by changes in the physical/radiative properties of ...
