An improved strategy for Z source inverter

2017 13th IEEE International Conference on Control & Automation (ICCA), 2017
Due to the advantage of realizing the boost converter, allowing the inverter working in the straight through state, Z source network inverter had been widely applied. However, the disadvantages of Z source Inverter, such as low boost capability and start-up impact, have restricted its development.

Extended-Boost $Z$-Source Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2009
The Z-source inverter has gained popularity as a single-stage buck-boost inverter topology among many researchers. However, its boosting capability could be limited, and therefore, it may not be suitable for some applications requiring very high boost demand of cascading other dc-dc boost converters.

Comparison of Traditional Inverters and Z-Source Inverter

IEEE 36th Conference on Power Electronics Specialists, 2005., 2006
In this paper, three different inverters-traditional PWM inverter, dc/dc boosted PWM inverter, and Z-source inverter were investigated and compared using fuel cell vehicle and photovoltaic domestic application as examples. Total switching device power, passive component requirement, and constant power speed ratio of each of these inverters were ...

A Comparison Between Quasi-Z-Source Inverter and Active Quasi-Z-Source Inverter

2019 10th International Conference on Power Electronics and ECCE Asia (ICPE 2019 - ECCE Asia), 2019
This paper presents some comparative results between the three-phase quasi-Z source inverter (qZSI)and active quasi-Z source inverter (AqZSI). An improved PWM method is proposed for AqZSI. The voltage gain can be increased by using the shoot-through duty cycle and the switching ratio of the additional switch.

Z-Source Inverter and Control

2020
As the oldest impedance source inverters, Z-source inverter is one of the typical topologies, whose analytical and control methods can be transplanted to other impedance source inverters. Besides, since the impedance source inverters are improved from traditional voltage source and current source inverters by inserting an impedance network, they can be

An Improved $Z$-Source Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2011
This paper proposes an improved Z-source inverter topology. Compared to previous Z-source inverter topology, it can reduce the Z-source capacitor voltage stress greatly, and has an inherent limitation to inrush current. The control strategy is exactly the same as the previous one, so all existing control strategies can be used directly.

Z-source inverter

Conference Record of the 2002 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 37th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.02CH37344), 2003
This paper presents an impedance-source (or impedance-fed) power converter (abbreviated as Z-source converter) and its control method for implementing DC-to-AC, AC-to-DC, AC-to-AC, and DC-to-DC power conversion. The Z-source converter employs a unique impedance network (or circuit) to couple the converter main circuit to the power source, thus ...

A survey on Z-source inverter

2014 International Conference on Control, Instrumentation, Communication and Computational Technologies (ICCICCT), 2014
In the established Voltage source inverter (VSI) and Current source inverter (CSI), are customized to get a new technology called as Z Source inverter. This highly developed Z Source technology has a set of connections of LC with revision, and traditional pulse width modulated signal which is used with modifications.

A Novel SEPIC-Based Z-Source Inverter

IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018
This paper proposes a new three-switch single-phase Z-source inverter (ZSI) based on SEPIC converters, which can be named SEPIC-based ZSI. This topology has the characteristics of buck-boost capability and has the feature of dual grounding. In addition, the voltage gain of proposed inverter is higher than that of the single-phase quasi-Z-source and ...

Maximum Boost Control of the Z-Source Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004
This paper explores control methods for the Z-source inverter and their relationships of voltage boost versus modulation index. A maximum boost control is presented to produce the maximum voltage boost (or voltage gain) under a given modulation index. The control method, relationships of voltage gain versus modulation index, and voltage stress versus ...
