Z-Source Inverter Based on CUK Converter
IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018This paper proposes a new three-switch single-phase Z-source inverter (ZSI) based on CUK converter, which is named CUK-based ZSI. This topology has the characteristics of buck-boost capability and dual grounding. In addition, the voltage gain of proposed inverter is higher than those of the single-phase quasi-Z-source and semi-Z-source inverters. Aside

Carrier-based PWM for Z-Source Inverters
IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012Z-Source Inverters have the ability to boost the dc link voltage, thus increasing the output ac voltage beyond the values reached by conventional inverters. The enhanced ratio from ac output voltage to dc link voltage is possible due to an impedance network connected between the dc power supply and the main converter.

2011 10th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2011
Many renewable generation units (e.g. PVs, fuel cells, small wind turbines) require integrated DC-AC converters providing efficient high step-up power conversion. On the basis of recent developments in impedance source (Z-source) inverters the present paper proposes an integration of quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) with a built-in high frequency ...

A comparison of Z-Source three-level NPC inverter versus Z-Source two-level inverter
2010 Emobility - Electrical Power Train, 2010The Z-Source inverter enables a single stage buck-boost conversion which is a useful characteristic in battery supplied electric vehicles. However, the boost operation leads to additional losses in the semiconductors of the inverter. This paper presents a comparison of Z-Source two-level inverter and Z-Source NPC inverters with regard to their total ...

High boosting type Z-source inverter/ improved Z-source inverter for solar photovoltaic system
2015 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON), 2015In this paper, two topologies are presented for solar PV system, namely voltage lifting ZSI and voltage lifting Improved ZSI. These proposed inverters possess very high voltage boost. By replacing the middle diode in one of the switched inductor (SL) cell of SL-ZSI/2SL-qZSI with capacitor (CVL) high voltage gain can be obtained and also number of L, C ...

Z-Source Inverter for Photovoltaic Microgeneration
2019 IEEE 15th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference and 5th IEEE Southern Power Electronics Conference (COBEP/SPEC), 2019The number of grid-connected photovoltaic systems has been growing in the world as a sustainable alternative for power generation. This paper presents a study of Z-source inverter applied to a low voltage residential photovoltaic microgeneration system. The ZSI topology is evaluated through the expressions related to its equivalent electrical circuits,

Z-source inverter with neutral point
2013 14th International Conference of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices, 2013This paper proposes a novel inverter for four-wire systems. The number of used transistors is reduced in a Z-source inverter with neutral point as compared with known schemes of Z-source inverter for four-wire systems. It increases reliability and efficiency. The scheme operation is verified by simulation.

Typical Transformer-Based Z-Source/Quasi-Z-Source Inverters
2016This chapter discusses the typical trans and LCCT Z-source/quasi-Z-source inverters (ZSIs/qZSIs). Their configurations, working operations, voltage and current principles, and simulation results are presented, providing a demonstration of the investigation of other extended transformer-based ZSIs/qZSIs.

In this paper, theoretical results are shown for several novel inverters. These inverters are similar to the Z-source inverters presented in previous works, but have several advantages, including in some combination; lower component ratings, reduced source stress, reduced component count and simplified control strategies.
