A new approach to Zadeh’s Z-numbers: Mixed-discrete Z-numbers
Information Fusion, 2020Abstract One of the main goals of computing with words is the accurate modeling of natural language. In this direction, Z-numbers were introduced by Zadeh in 2011 as a pair of fuzzy numbers, (A, B), where A is interpreted as a fuzzy restriction on the values of a variable, while B is interpreted as a measure of certainty or sureness of A.

Information volume of Z-number
Information Sciences, 2022A discrete Z-number \(X = (A,B)\) describing an uncertain variable \(X\) is a pair of fuzzy numbers \(A\), \(B\) where \(A\) is a fuzzy description of possible values of the variable and \(B\) is a fuzzy probability measure of \(A\). Here, a transformation of discrete Z-numbers to a probability mass function is presented and an information volume of Z ...

In this chapter, first the Z-number is introduced then calculating operations are defined. Moreover several ranking methods are investigated to order the Z-numbers for using in other appropriate models. To points out one of the application, a regression method based on neural network technique is described in detail.

Modeling and implementation of Z-number
Soft Computing, 2015Computing with words provides symbolic and semantic methodology to deal with imprecise information associated with natural languages. It encapsulates various fuzzy logic techniques developed in past decades and formalizes them. Z-number is an emerging paradigm that has been utilized in computing with words among others.

On Z-valuations using Zadeh's Z-numbers
International Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2012We first recall the concept of Z-numbers introduced by Zadeh. These objects consist of an ordered pair (A, B) of fuzzy numbers. We then use these Z-numbers to provide information about an uncertain variable V in the form of a Z-valuation, which expresses the knowledge that the probability that V is A is equal to B.

The arithmetic of multidimensional Z-number
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2018The Z-number has become a new representation of evaluation information because of its superiority in describing reliability measure. Current studies focuses mainly on the unidimensional Z-number like Z = (about 25 min, usually). Studies on multidimensional cases have not been reported. However, because people often describe things from various aspects,
